Friends, Ashneer Grover was born on 4 June 1982 in Delhi. His father was a Chartered Accountant and his mother was a teacher.
Ashneer Grover – Education
Ashneer was very good in their studies since childhood and he also cracked JEE exam. After this, he got admission to IIT Delhi, where he studied civil engineering.
In the year 2002, out of 450 students of IIT Delhi, only 6 students got the opportunity to study at INSA Lyon University under the student exchange program. Ashneer Grover was also one of them. After returning to India in 2003, Ashneer completed his MBA degree from IIM Ahmedabad.
Ashneer Grover – Professional Life
In the year 2006, he joined Kotak Finance Banking and remained a part of Kotak for the next 7 years. During this, he had become the Vice President of Kotak Investment Banking.
In 2013, he joined American Express as the Director of Corporate Development. While at American Express, he funded many successful startups like MobiKwik.
After this, he also worked in Grofers and PC Jewellers. Ashneer had gained enough experience by working in different companies from 2006 to 2018 and now he wanted to take his professional career towards entrepreneurship.
Ashneer Grover – Startup Bharatpe
In 2018, Ashneer Grover started Bharatpe in association with Shashwat Nakrani. Both of them noticed that small shopkeepers have a lot of difficulties accepting payments from UPI QR.
One, they have to keep the QRs of different companies with them, and secondly, they have to pay the charges on the payments. Bharatpe’s UPI QR could be used to pay on any UPI app and it was absolutely free.
Bharatpe revolutionized the Indian market and Ashneer Grover was counted among the top entrepreneurs of India. Today Bharatpe is a company with a valuation of more than 3 billion dollars.
Ashneer Grover – Controversy
But Ashneer is not with Bharatpe. In the year 2022, an audio recording went viral on Twitter, in which an employee of Ashneer Kotak Mahindra Bank can be heard raging for not securing Nykaa’s IPO shares. Kotak talks about taking legal action against Ashneer Grover regarding this.
Meanwhile, Bharatpe’s board of directors accuses Ashneer and his wife Madhu Jain Grover of financial irregularities in Bharatpe. Now who is right and who is wrong in this whole case? Only time will tell.

CrickPe is a new fantasy cricket app BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover created in anticipation of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
My11Circle will go up against popular apps like Dream11 and Mobile Premier League (MPL) from Games24x7. In 2022, the Founder of CrickPea fantasy cricket application, Ashneer Grover’s startup, Third Unicorn Pvt Ltd, received $4 million in seed capital from over twenty angel investors, including Anmol Singh Jaggi, Anirudh Kedia, and Vishal Kedia.
Grover, the founder of CrickPe, has previously worked with the unicorns BharatPe and Grofers. Starting on March 31, 2023, the app will let users enter tournaments based on future IPL- Indian Premier League matches.
CrickPe’s Key Features
● New to the fantasy sports scene, CrickPe is centered around the sport of cricket and allows users over the age of 18 to set up virtual cricket teams and compete in paid activities with the chance to earn cash rewards depending on the actual performance of the players.
● Users can also create exclusive groups and participate in tournaments for prizes. Any type of contest, public or private, will result in a 10% platform fee within the app. Users may participate in free competitions to improve their abilities.
● Users may send their favorite cricketers cash awards of between Rs 100 and Rs 100,000 per cricketer every season using the site’s special function.
● As of June 2023, CrickPe will tack on a 10% processing fee for any cash prizes taken by cricketers. The app isn’t actually representing cricketers; it’s only providing the service as a benefit to its users.
